Fast-rising Ghanaian dancehall musician, J. Derobie known in real life as Derrick Obobbie Junior, is set to make new strides in his career.
Young dancehall musician J. Derobie is set to get signed on by an international record label amid his progress in the industry.
According to CEO of EIB Network, Bola Ray, who disclosed it, Akon’s Konvict Music will be signing the ‘Povery’ hitmaker.
Bola Ray made the revelation at the just-ended Ghana Meets Naija party held at the Kikibees Night Club.
While the party was on-going, Bola Ray called up J. Derobie on stage to announce that he will get signed on to Konvict Music by September 2019.
The ace radio presenter heaped praise on the musician, claiming that he has done well even though he is young in the industry.
Bola Ray further commended Nigerian singer, Mr. Eazi, for all the assistance he has given the young dancehall musician.

Mr. Eazi undertook the project to assist up and coming musicians by helping them record a song as well as funding their videos.
J. Derobie who was one of the young artistes to have partook in the project became popular when his single, ‘Poverty’, went viral.
It is however awesome that the young dancehall musician is going to work together with world musicians like Akon, T-Pain, among others.
Konvict Muzik is a record label founded by world renowned Senegalese-born American R&B singer Akon.
Other than Akon, popular artists such as T-Pain, Kardinal Offishall, Kat DeLuna, Red Cafe, Dolla and Verse Simmonds are on the record label.
